 Presidential Pardons - Scooter Libby

The pardon of Marc Rich by President Clinton is what makes the Pardon of I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby by President Bush so excusable. To be fair-minded, I would have to conceed that Clinton's pardon of Marc Rich was worse then the Libby pardon. At least Bush waited until Libby was convicted by a jury. Clinton's pardon of Rich superseded the indictment. I may be a left-winger, but I have to call them like I see them and that's just the way it is.

 President Bush support Alberto Gonzales!

Yeah, I remember when he supported Donald Rumsfeld just a few days before he got shit-canned. The Attorney General better not pin all of his hoped on the Presidents support. When the President stand behind you, it doesn't mean that he supports you, it means that you're about to get fucked! -

Spread um' wide Alberto!

"These damn Mexicans are taking our jobs!"

I laugh whenever I hear someone say this. Exactly what jobs are these people referring to? - Did some illegal immigrant steal that dish washing job right out from under them? - Where they passed over for a position to man the vacuum hose down at the carwash? - Maybe it was that opportunity to sell oranges at a freeway exit? - Whatever the case may be, if you're worried about loosing potential employment opportunities to an illegal immigrant then you have bigger problems. You have obviously failed to recognize the vocational errors that you made along the way. People like this go through life with a view of the world as they perceive it to be, while the rest of us see it the way that it actually is. Whenever I do see some Mexican selling anything at a freeway exit, I don't see
him as the troublesome burden the way that others may. What I see is a person who came to this country asking for nothing more then a chance at a better life for which he is obviously willing to work towards.

The troublesome burden in my opinion are the worthless Americans whom also frequent freeway off ramps in hopes of making a few dollars but do it with a "Homeless & Hungry" sign instead. I would sooner buy every last orange from an illegal immigrant before putting one thin dime in the pan-handling palm of a lazy American.

That's my two cents!

 Picking Your Party

When I was 18-years old, I registered as a republican because my parents and older siblings where republican. I suppose this is how most registered voters acquired their political affiliations. It is not by coincidence that people, more often then not, have the same political and religious affiliations as their parents. I am not trying to insinuate that there is anything wrong with having a common ideology within a family. It is only when the views become radical and appears scripted that I raise a curious eyebrow. Call me crazy, but this seems to be a more common within the Republican Party then any other. There seems to be an expectation to embrace the ideology letter-for-letter with no room for deviation. To do so even slightly is tantamount to rejecting the ideology in its entirety.

I was 23-years old when I could no longer rationalize the views and opinions of my elected leaders as anything other then blatant hypocrisy. I registered as a democrat the following year to the utter disbelief of my parents. I had an interesting conversation with them recently about what history will have to say about the Presidencies of Bill Clinton and the latter George Bush. With a straight face, both emphatically suggested that Bush would have a legacy more favorable then Clinton. I am no fan of President Clinton’s personal shortcomings, or his lack of integrity and respect for his wife and as well as the oval office. However, for anyone to suggest that our current President has out performed or surpassed the accomplishments of Presidents Clinton is ridiculous. That would be like suggesting that Tony Snow’s cancer is just God’s way of punishing him for going on TV day-after-day and saying things that even he does not believe, or knows to be untrue.
